TEKNOSAFE 2407-00 is a water-borne intumescent primer for weathered wooden façades. Substrate: Nordic Spruce solid wood boards with thickness 19–57 mm and density 500 ±100 kg/m³. Used as an industrial primer as part of a system called Teknos FR Façade to improve reaction to fire performance (EN 13501-1) of weathered wooden facades. Before using the product, Teknos should be contacted to check the suitability of the product for the object in question.

Fire retardant properties have been classified B-s1, d0 / B-s2, d0 according to EN 13501-1 (SBI test) in certain systems - see https://www.teknos.com/products/teknosafe-2407-00/. Durability classes of reaction to fire performance of fire-retardant wooden façade product treated with Teknos FR Façade opaque in end use applications according to EN16755 DRF class EXT. Teknos FR Façade opaque holds classification according to SP Fire105 and fire resistance K₁10 and K₂10.

Surface preparation

The wood must be free from wood dust and contamination. The moisture content of the wood should not exceed 18%. All softwood and non-durable hardwood for exterior use should be treated with TEKNOL AQUA 1410-01 wood preservative.

Application conditions

The temperature of the air, the surface and the paint shall be above +10°C and the relative humidity of the air below 80% during the time of application and drying. The best result is achieved when the temperature of the air is between +23°C and +38°C, the relative humidity of the air is 50-70% and the ventilation good. Stir the paint thoroughly before use, preferably using mechanical stirring. After on-site cutting the specified loading rate must be re-instated. For all coated solid wood or wood-based panels, a non-marking protective layer of minimum 1.5 mm thickness (e.g., polyethylene film) is recommended to be used between coated surfaces.

The best storage temperature is +10°C - +25°C. Must not freeze.
