Hidden costs in your painting line

Do you look at the price per liter when choosing a paint supplier? You’re not the only one. It's the most common way to compare costs, right? But here’s the catch - focusing only on the price per liter could be costing you more in the long run.

There’s a lot more to it.

Let’s find out if you have a full understanding of your painting line costs. Can you answer these questions confidently?

1.  Are you using more paint than you need?

Do you know the spreading rate of your paint (liters per square meter) and how it affects your total usage?

2.  Is your paint covering as much as it should?

How well do you understand the dry film thickness (DFT) and its impact on the number of coats required? And are you sure that you need more than one coat?

3.  Are there environmental costs you haven’t considered?

What is the VOC content of your paint, and how might high levels lead to extra costs?

4.  What are the total costs per square meter for your current paint system?

Can you break down these costs by considering both the price per liter and the spreading rate?

If you are not 100% sure about these, it might be time to take a closer look.
