AQUATOP 2600-69 is a water-borne, colourless, industrial topcoat for wood designated for exterior use such as windows and doors, which can also be tinted in translucent colours.

AQUATOP 2600-69 can be applied by all conventional spraying systems - both hand spraying and automated and robot spraying system such as: Airless, Airmix, Disc and High Rotation Bells. AQUATOP 2600-69 will typically be applied on pre-treated substrates such as softwood, hardwood, Accoya and modified wood. Exterior durability of coating systems including AQUATOP 2600 is typically documented according to EN 927-2.

AQUATOP 2600-69 contains extra UV absorbers to maximize the coatings durability. Depending on the wood species, the appearance may become darker or lighter over time. Pine and spruce may yellow/turn darker. Acetylated wood, Sapele and the like may fade/turn lighter.

Surface preparation

The wood must be free from wood dust and contamination. The moisture content of the wood should be approx. 13% and should not exceed 15%. Pretreatment is required for wood substrates not meeting Durability Class 3, EN 350:2016. Teknos has a range of preservative products meeting the requirements of EN 599-1, please contact Teknos for further guidance. The parts must be treated with an intermediate flow coat treatment to secure the surface to be fully closed before topcoat application.

Application conditions

Stir thoroughly before use. Optimum temperature for products and surroundings: +18°C - +22°C. Optimum relative air humidity: Approx. 50%. Film thickness – hardwood: 2 x 150 µm wet Film thickness – softwood: 1 x 300 µm wet

Storage

Storage temperature is +5°C - +30°C. Shelf life in unopened containers: See “Best before date” on the label. Keep containers tightly closed after use.
