Protective nuclear coatings for concrete surfaces in nuclear power stations
Protective nuclear coatings for steel surfaces in nuclear power stations
The above coating systems for steel constructions have been tested by VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland) according to the following instruction and standards:
- STUK-YTO-TR 210: 2017 / STUK-YTO-TR 210: 2004
Requirements for coatings of nuclear power plant containments.
- ASTM D 3911-95, 1995 / ASTM D 3911-16, 2016
Standard test method for evaluating coatings used in light-water nuclear power plants at simulated design basis accident (DBA) conditions.
- ASTM D 4082-95, 1995 / ASTM D 4082-10, 2010
Standard test method for effects of gamma radiation on coatings for use in light-water nuclear power plants.
- ISO 8690, 1998
Decontamination of radioactively contaminated surfaces. Method of testing and assessing the ease of decontamination.
According to test results, those coating systems fulfill the requirements given in 2004 / 2017 by Radiation and Nuclear Safety authority of Finland (STUK) for Radiation (gamma) and DBA-resistance and Ease of decontamination.
