How to recognize the safer paint option, especially for people with asthma and allergies?

The Allergy Label is a sign that the paint meets the Allergy label criteria. The Allergy Label helps consumers to choose a paint that does not generally irritate or sensitize skin nor respiratory problems, or trigger odor sensitivity symptoms. Products must not contain high emissions, fragrances, generally sensitizing or irritating ingredients, and nickel. Allergy Label® is issued by the Finnish Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation.

Allergy-labeled products should be considered first in choosing paint for people with sensitivities, allergies, and asthma. It is important to remember that allergies are always individual, and some may also be sensitized to a substance that is generally well tolerated. The Allergy label is not a guarantee that the products are suitable for everyone.
